The Blue Grotto is a corner unit located on the 11th floor of the oceanfront Capri by the Sea in Pacific Beach.  It features stunning ocean views from every room. This 2bd/2ba unit is spacious and perfect for the reunion of family and friends!  

The guest bedroom has 2 queen size beds, ceiling fan, portable fan, closet and storage space, smart TV with dvr, in-suite full bathroom with a tub-shower combo, and ocean and north PB views from the window.

The kitchen is fully equipped for meals at home with a dining table for 6-8 guests that can be expanded with a drop-in leaf, and 4 breakfast bar stools. Adjacent to the kitchen is a pantry/wine closet. The living room is open and welcoming with floor to ceiling corner and oceanfront views, comfortable sofas and queen size sleeper, smart TV with dvr, and roller blinds. 

Around from the living room is a sitting room and entrance to the master bedroom. The master has a king size bed, ample closet and dresser space, full in-suite bathroom with tub-shower combo, ceiling fan, smart TV with dvr, portable fans and bedroom window to the incredible ocean view! Enjoy sites of wildlife and surfers in the morning with a cup of joe just outside the bedroom in the sitting room.

The unit comes equipped with cleaning equipment, beach accessories, and extra supplies. There are wall heaters in each room.

Guests have 1 reserved parking space on the lower level of the gated garage. All entrances require a key fob. The rental comes with 2 fobs for guests to use during the stay.


Capri by the Sea is just steps away from the Mission/Pacific Beach boardwalk and easy walking distance to Crystal pier, and all the shops, restaurants, and bars on both Mission Blvd and Garnet Avenue. Located on the 11th floor, the views from South Mission Beach to the La Jolla peninsula are simply breathtaking. The views have been highlighted in this unit with floor to ceiling windows that encompass every inch of the viewable space you could have from this amazing condo. 

Capri by the Sea offers every amenity you could want and need for your stay in San Diego. A single parking space is included with your reservation. The rooftop offers 360 views of Pacific Beach, with BBQ grills and picnic tables and lounge seating. A heated (80 degrees) pool and hot tub are located on the ground floor behind the Capri building and are accessible with your key fob. A washer and dryer (coin-operated) are located at the South end of the hallway just outside the condo. A trash and recycling chute is located on the North end. Your key fob gives access to that condo's floor, lobby, rooftop, garage and pool area. Check-in instructions sent via email will provide more details about how to obtain your keys/lock code and fobs.

NEED MORE ROOM? If you would like to travel with extended family or other families, we have several 1 and 2 bedroom units in this building! On the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th floors.

Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed)

It is important for you to read all the details about your property. *NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about our home!

Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit along with the House Rules & Rental Agreement. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY 

If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a ‘starter kit’ to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store.

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soaps, kitchen sponge, dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, and trash bags. In addition a Keurig coffee makers with k-cups and a standard coffee maker, linens and towels, extra blankets, extra pillows, extra sheets for sleeper sofas, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.  Kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with extra settings, toaster, blender, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. 

While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. We respect your privacy so our emails help provide you with all you need to know to reference as you please.

In addition, most of our properties have House Manuals detailing specific information about the property, amenities and responsibilities. Not to mention an awesome section on attractions, events, restaurants and more to help guide you during your stay in San Diego!

Please note: The look-out terraces at the Capri are NOT for standing or sitting. DO NOT lean on the railings. Capri by the Sea has asked for our cooperation in their new safety proceedings. The incredible views of the beach, boardwalk and ocean are not affected!


Please note our policies:

Attention Guests: In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days.

Holiday 2024 Policy: 
6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 21-January 4). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day. 
*An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!  

Summer 2024 Policy:
Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2024, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy. 

To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest’s face and holding either a Driver’s License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.

This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

Nightly Minimum Policy:
4 night minimum required in the off season except for last minute bookings and shorter vacancy periods. 
6 night AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.

Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm)
